Reflections from people who have worked with me

  • “All the sex I have had in recent years has not been connected, I sought out fantasies and deviations to try and find that connection … what is happening here feels like many major steps forward”

    Simon

  • “I’m seeing reality from an easier place and its been good to share all that I’ve been holding on to releasing into more space inside. I realise that I can have desire”

    June

  • “At the end of the session I felt sensual, relaxed, released, relieved, unblocked, and lighter and I am taking away with me a new experience and I have learnt that I can do something different”

    Amanda

Radical Acceptance

I believe every human being has gifts to share and that these are often grown from where we have suffered the most. Our self-acceptance, kindness and ease with ourselves, when we have felt witnessed, can ripple out to support ease with others.

Katie has developed her practice over 30 years of professional clinical practice.

She specialises in facilitating radical acceptance and integration of extremes of human suffering. She is an Art Psychotherapist, Body Poet, Artist, Certified Wheel of Consent facilitator, Certified Somatic Sex Educator, Certified Sexological Bodyworker, and Playback Theatre Practitioner.

Embodying intimacy - Online from your home

  • Embodying intimacy in the comfort and privacy of your home and discovering what you want for this next era of your life

These intimate online sessions are in the privacy of your home. This is through a process called Body Poem that illuminates different aspects of yourself that are calling to be listened to. I will guide you with intimacy skill practices using the Wheel of Consent that exercise intimate decision-making to facilitate your coming home to your erotic and sensual embodiment.

These online sessions offer you home practice guidance to support you updating versions of yourself and creating new ways of being that enhance your intentions for yourself.

As your receptivity to feel more increases and you find words that come close to describing what matters to you and you learn to stop overriding these communications, your decision-making can have the benefits of hindsight in each moment.

… these sessions are designed to support you in trusting your decisions and feeling the ground underneath you with your next steps

  • “When I started working with you I expected it to be painful and traumatic and was pleasantly surprised that it was so gentle and nurturing despite the depth of the emotional wounds that were being healed”

    Adam

  • “Katie has facilitated my inner person to become my outer person. She has unlocked and liberated my mind and body.”

  • Why is learning to play essential for our survival?

The “PLAY emotional command system” according to the Jaak Panksepp Affective Relational Neuroscience research is the most dopamine-rewarded system. Why might this be?

  • Why do baby mammals play?

All baby animals play with each other looking into each other’s eyes and attuning to each other while playing power over and power under games. They are learning about loving and being loved

  • Learning to not play too much

It makes sense that nature should hormonally reward us for learning about our limits and the limits of others

  • Playing is practising confidence in our decision making

Experimenting with your creative self expression in sessions with me supports you inhabiting new ways of being in private before trying these out in your life

  • trusting spontaneity

By practising inhabiting our personal power and experiencing safety we can learn to trust spontaneity which makes intimacy creative and fun

  • Response Flexibility

Playing with the wheel of consent practices supports practising self-regulation and what Daniel Seigal refers to as our “Response Flexibility” meaning being in choice with how we respond to the intensity of hormonal and nervous system responses in the body.

Body Poem Videos from live sessions.

Body Poem offers a way of illuminating unthought-knowns and trusting in self-organising intelligence when we practise radical acceptance.

Your Body Poem might be the beginning of a session with your arrival or completing a session with where you have been. Here are two live recorded examples that have been made into short films helping us not to forget the wisdom that speaks when we listen in this way.

“It’s a joy to be hidden but a disaster never to be found”
